YOUR PROFILE
Your profile provides a central place for visitors and other members to learn more about you, see your press releases, topics, comments & friends.
Visiting Your Profile - You can always get to your profile by clicking on your username link on the navigation bar in the top left part of the site.
To change settings on your profile, you will see a 'Settings' tab on the center part of your profile.
You can also click onto 'My Controls' in the righthand side of the navigation bar for profile controls, email settings and board settings.
PROFILE FEATURES
Here are brief desciptions of the profile features. The links take you directly to the page to edit that function on your profile. You of course must be logged in to visit these links.
- Avatar - A smaller picture that appears on each post. This could be your picture, company logo or parent company logo. Must be less than 10K.
- Profile Picture - The larger picture that appears on your profile. This could be your picture, company logo or parent company logo. Must be less than 20K.
- Web Site Link - Put a link to your official company web site so people can learn more about your company.
If this is an HR profile, you could add a link to your company career site. If it is a PR profile, you could add a direct link to your online media kit.
The sales department may want a direct link to the online store.
- Settings - Click this tab to change your profile settings. You can also click onto 'My Controls' in the right part of the navigation bar for profile controls, email settings and board settings.
- Topics & Posts - The 'Topics' tab shows all the topics you have started such as Press Releases, Bios, etc. The 'Posts' tab will show the 'replies' to other member's topics.
- Recent Visitors - Shows the other members who have visited your profile.
- Comments - These are comments left on your profile from other members. These might be positive reviews from clients. You can review, delete & approve comments before they are posted.
It's also a good idea to leave positive comments on the profiles for other companies you respect. Just visit their profile and add the comment. Note: Leaving negative comments is a policy violation.
- Friends - These are other members that you have added to your profile.
To add a member as a friends, visit their profile and click the 'Add Friend' link under their photo.
Other members can add you too without your approval unless you change your settings to approve all friends.
To make it easier for clients to learn about your company, you may want to add your partner companies, divisions or departments such as HR, PR & Sales.
You may also want to add clients, suppliers and other companies.
